The Zinds’ Winter Wonderland Wedding

We’ve been looking forward to this day for a very long time!

Taylor & Roman were married in Granby, Colorado, at the most beautiful mountain lodge surrounded by their closest friends and family. Their day was absolutely incredible in every way. The house was filled with warmth, not only from the fireplace, but the love shared between families.

While my husband Stephen and Taylor were coworkers, he casually mentioned I was a wedding photographer after he heard they were engaged… *wink wink.* Soon after we got in contact with Taylor, she told me they hoped to have a destination wedding! We were absolutely thrilled, for this would be our first major out of state wedding!

Taylor’s details included a beautiful veil, wedding day perfume, her jewelry set, a custom ring box, her gorgeous invitation suite, and Vans!

Taylor also had some of her details photographed alongside family heirlooms from past weddings. It was incredibly sentimental and an awesome way to preserve those memories and traditions through photos.

The house was buzzing with excitement as Roman and Taylor got ready for the wedding. While the boys worked to clear snow and ice off the back deck for the ceremony, I snuck a quick photo between Shelia (Taylor’s momma) and Roman. The love both families showed for their new additions was felt throughout the whole day. It was so special to see their families truly uniting as one.

It’s always incredible to me to feel how the air changes as brides put on their wedding dresses. It starts getting real! Taylor’s beautiful gown was found at Norman’s Bridal, located in Springfield, MO. Norman’s always provides such a fun experience for the bride and her entourage.

Taylor chose to have a few first looks – but not with her groom! First, we set up her bridesmaids to see her full bridal look. They were all so sweet and excited for our bride. Second, Taylor wanted to share a moment with her daddy. We all teared up at the sweet exchange. Although hesitant at the start, Abe eventually turned around to see his gorgeous eldest daughter ready for her wedding.

After they wiped their tears, Abe slipped a penny in Taylor’s shoe for good luck!

Taylor said, “Oh my gosh, now I get to see Roman next!”

We can’t forget about our handsome groom! Roman had worked hard all day running errands and clearing snow for their ceremony. He constantly served others, but we managed to snag a few photos of the guys getting spiffed up, too.

Taylor wanted to share one final first look with her new in-laws! Their reactions were precious.

The couple wanted to share their personal vows together back to back before their ceremony. This is a great alternative to having a first look! We got the sweetest pictures of their special moment together.
Once we got them back inside and warmed up, it was just about time for the ceremony! We got in a few more family pictures, and Taylor shared a Jack & Coke with her dad.

Cue the music! We turned on the patio heaters, bundled up, and got ready for the big moment! The light snow added a hint of sparkle to their magical ceremony. I’ll let the rest of these pictures speak for themselves.

After we braved the snow, friends and family warmed up by the fire with pizza and drinks. The speeches shared about Taylor and Roman will forever be imprinted on our hearts. We heard stories, memories, and wishes for the couple from Abe, Taylor’s sister Hailey, and Aurick, Roman’s brother. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as we listened, laughed, and watched their first dances. The rest of the night was spent dancing and celebrating.

We got to sneak The Zinds outside for a few last photos to end the night. We couldn’t resist the snow and twinkle lights!

The Zinds’ wedding was absolutely perfect! We loved getting to know Roman and Taylor better through our time together during their engagement session and planning. Photographing weddings provides many opportunities, but I am most grateful for the relationships Stephen and I get to create with our couples and their families.

We wish the best for Roman and Taylor!

With love,

Mallory
